Bandipur National Park is a beautiful forest reserve which is located in the state of Karnataka. This national park occupies a special place in India’s efforts towards natural conservation. Earlier this park was created in 1930s from the land where local Maharaja Voodiyar hunts, and it was named as Venugopal Wildlife Park. Then as Bandipur National Park, it was expanded in 1941s to adjoin the Nagarhole National Park, which lay towards its northern edge, and Wayanad (sometimes called as Wynad), Kerala and Madhumulai Sanctuaries, Tamil Nadu
